Features

  • Fabric: Typically made of cotton, polyester, or a blend of both, scrubs are lightweight, breathable, and easy to wash. Some scrubs are also made from antimicrobial materials to reduce the risk of bacterial contamination.
  • Design: Scrubs generally come in two pieces: a top (shirt) and bottoms (pants). The tops usually have a V-neck or round neck and are short-sleeved or long-sleeved. The bottoms are usually drawstring or elastic-waisted pants for comfort and ease of movement.
  • Colors and Patterns: Scrubs come in various colors and prints. Many hospitals use color-coded scrubs for different departments (e.g., blue for surgery, green for emergency care). In some regions or for certain roles, scrubs may include specific patterns like cartoon prints for pediatric wards.
  • Functional Pockets: Scrubs are equipped with multiple pockets for carrying medical tools like pens, scissors, thermometers, or small personal items.
  • Hygiene and Durability: Scrubs are designed for frequent washing and high durability, often needing to withstand daily rigorous use and the need to be sterile or disinfected.
